:pAnybody still laughing at this? I can't believe they put this on there. I have to download it just for the hilarity of it all and for the drunken Rock Band parties.

Ah Jimmy Buffett. I gotta say I didn't see that one coming at all. By the way I'm sure this has been mentioned before but I like the way they are releasing two very distinct packs and I hope this is a trend that continues.

Margaritaville is something I've heard a thousand times but only know the chorus. I always disliked it.

This morning, I sat and listened to the whole song, and (sweet Jesus, I wish I was posting anonymously) it actually started to grow on me. I remember the song as sappy, but it's actually kind of poignant:

Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
But I know, it's my own damn fault.

Yes, I totally didn't see Jimmy Buffet coming, but with Rock Band working best as a party game it definitely makes sense in retrospect.

I never heard much of Jimmy Buffet's music but margaritaville is definitively a great tune...It'll be interesting to see how its charted....however, Cheeseburgers in Paradise and Volcano must be two of the corniest songs I've ever heard.

I youtubed Cheeseburgers in paradise and I could not stop laughing out loud as he sang the lyrics. Too silly for my taste....so I'll probably just pick up Margaritaville.

    Jimmy Buffet FTW.

I'm definitely getting it! I've been a Buffett fan since I first heard him. I just hope that we'll see more. "Fins", "Pencil Thin Moustache", and "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" seem pretty likely if we were to have another pack.

Holy S*** - Me and The Whiffle agree about something!!!! Except I would rather have Grapefruit-Juicyfruit over Pencil Thin. . . but now I'm nitpicking. Keep the Buffett coming!!!!

I've never even heard of this Jimmy Buffett dude. I dunno if it's my age or perhaps no one in Australia know who he is. There is something overly american about him, his voice is basically country singing.

Are you mad? Fins would be the next Thrasher. As soon as you go fins up (as required by law), the full band fails.

Buffet is more credible/ledgendary than f'n Devo, first off.

Second off, these songs are gonna be just plain fun. CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE?! That song is mountain-larious.

All of these songs were made famous before INXS, AC/DC, Men At Work, or Midnight Oil. . . And Buffett is pure American Folk, so I expect there will be more Wallaby in the headlights looks from Australians and Europeans.

Here in the USA and the Caribbean, he is his own institution. . . With his own Tequila and Beer label, two successful restaurant chains and 20 or so platinum selling albums. He's even had New York Times bestselling novels and his non-fiction biography.

He is the only American in history to have had #1 singles on both the Pop and country charts AND #1 fiction and non-fiction books. The only other American author to have scored #1 on fiction and non-fiction charts was Ernest Hemingway.

yeah and his brand new fiction book is already a best seller now I think. Anywho you left out the fact that trump marina in Atlantic city has just been purchased and is being changed to a Margaritaville themed casino!

At least they're releasing 2 packs... Couldn't care any less about both though.

What bugs me is that no one requested Jimmy Buffet and here were "enjoying" a three piece of him... Is that the trick? do not ask and you'll get?

I just hope the main issue is not lost on all of you, me included.

You have an artist, even if it is Jimmy Buffet, specifically going into a studio to record tracks for RB. Even if you don't like JB, let's not be badmouthing this.

For once this the time to bite your tongue and keep your traps shut. If you don't like the DLC, fine. But that doesn't mean it's laughable.

I happen to be one of the lucky ones ..... Last concert I went to was Disturbed. I'm also old enough to like classic rock. Not that Jimmy is "rock", but he is classic. I know 2 of the 3 song in the pack .... so it 6 more songs for me this week.

BTW.... I've never even thought of buying JP or the Cars while I was growing up. How thing change. Damn you HMX.

Doesn't seem like anyone is trashing Buffett. But, he's a legit musical icon and he's into the game! There are all kinds of stuffed shirt, former free love hippy 60's and 70's acts that don't exactly seem to embrace things of this nature.

While those are 3 popular Buffett songs, I really only love "Margarittaville". Jimmy lost me around the time of "Cheeseburger In Paradise". He has some fantastic music in the 70's and lots of it is virtually ignored. The album "A-1-A" is a classic. Freddy

haha I wouldn't say its all ignored... a pirate looks at 40 is a classic from that record, heck didn't he write his autobiography on that title! "how a pirate looks at 50"

but I hear you some early stuff around that time was really good, i think on another record "the wino and I know" and "pencil thin mustache" came out that year too, good stuff...then again I love the recent stuff too. Bama breeze was a fun song to sing to me.

Maybe "ignored" was the wrong word. He seems to be more closely associated with the "party" and novelty stuff. "Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season" is a masterpiece. "Wino And I Know" is a helluva tune too.

Those are the songs I dig the most. But, I'll take what I get....I'll be buying. I think it's cool that he understands and wants to be a part of Rock Band. Freddy

yeah I hear ya there, I feel bad for my neighbors though. The announcement put my sound system on a non stop Buffett Buffet! considering I own everything he made it won't stop anytime soon :o (Even the hoot soundtrack where jimmy played the role of school teacher on the flick!)

also though its kind of a jokey song everybody's on the phone is a fun song that is pretty rock sounding for anyone who thinks he can't possibly be rock, though I admit has alot of other sounds in it too

I dunno what the heck the video is but the song playing in it is everybody's on the phone from jimmy

haha then again fins is more of rock than this even but I happened to be listening to this at the moment haha

He is... he's legendary, when these guys hit 16 years old or so and get their first fake id and have their first drink, and listen to their first buffet song, they'll understand. Until then..... ./hate

Jimmy Buffet's got a very different sound for Rock Band, but the more different it is, the more I seem to like it. I was mostly surprised to see his songs released with Disturbed.

Devon, won't go to heaven.. because she'd rather stop by Margaritaville and and have a Cheeseburger in Paradise! I just hope she doesn't slip and fall into the Volcano. She's obviously not Indestructible, and won't last long Inside the Fire. That would just be insanity.. Perfect Insanity! *creepy stare*

    I get it now..

I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship (for Jimmy Buffett and Rock Band).

I definitely want to see the Big 8 get done (and with three out already, I'm ready for a Buffett six-pack including the rest of the Big 8 and Five O'Clock Somewhere. . .

Then realistically, I can hold off for lesser known tracks like Take Another Road and Trying To Reason.
