Van Halen's "Van Halen", their debut album, sold over 10 million copies, and spawned the hair metal era of the 80's, and IMO, is top top five albums of all time.

heres the track list

1. Runnin with the Devil http://youtube.com/watch?v=tpX3NhpRGdE
2. Eruption http://youtube.com/watch?v=8w-0bSo9OcI
3. You Really Got Me http://youtube.com/watch?v=e9t5ozKyN7Y&feature=related
4. Ain't Talkin Bout Love http://youtube.com/watch?v=YzB-3oKIfRw
5. I'm the One http://youtube.com/watch?v=E6l0dKFPUiY
6. Jamie's Cryin http://youtube.com/watch?v=aA-JfqCepDs
7. Atomic Punk http://youtube.com/watch?v=1XrdzdsRcE0
8. Feel Your Love Tonight http://youtube.com/watch?v=5ItwgGl66eM
9. Little Dreamer http://youtube.com/watch?v=NAMOq1mYZsA
10. Ice Cream Man http://youtube.com/watch?v=jxl53ElwJdY
11. On Fire http://youtube.com/watch?v=SdO3dislX18

EDIT : added youtube links for all of the songs. all of these are amazing!!!!!!!!

four of these songs are massive hits, one being a guitar epic, and the rest are gems that would a blast for a full band to play. guessing eruption would be combined with you really got me, a la foreplay/longtime or hellion/electric eye. so, help us bring such an epic album to Rock Band. HMX, you would rock my world if you got this.

I'd love to see this as album DLC. Van Halen was the first CD I ever bought, I can remember a time in during my teenage years where I listened to the cassette front to back at least once a day. If HMX got this album, that would be a coup.

    Here's hoping it happens.

    Agreed

I suggested this album in the 80's 90's album thread :D

    The thing is....

Would they have 'Eruption' on the end of 'Runnin' With the Devil' or the begining of 'You Really Got Me'?

e.g Judas Priest's songs 'The Hellion/ Electric Eye' in the album download?

Eruption/You really got me, it's the way they do it on the radio.

I'd love me some VH, but I had to vote majority because frankly I never liked Ice Cream Man. The others though are must haves.

Of course, if it would be less money to buy the whole album instead of 9 out of 10 tracks, then I would have no problem adding that song to my list as well.

I'd rather have "1984", but this album would also be good.

I agree with Daftuprising, 1984 is better but this album is still amazing/awesome

Can't really agree with 1984 as a better album. Better album cover, maybe - but the first Van Halen album is truly Van Halen at their best. 1984 marks Eddie's burgeoning interest in synthesizers, which leads to songs like "I'll Wait" and later on like "Love Walks In". The songs are OK, but they can't touch the hard edge of stuff like "Atomic Punk" or "On Fire".

And even if you don't like Ice Cream Man, just listening to it, it sounds like one of the best guitar lines on the album.

I voted no to this not because I think Van Halen is noise but because I don't like that particular album. :o

Atleast we now know why Crazie is part of your tag. To speak of Van Halen and not like this album is blasphemous. So is liking 1984 over it to you guys a few post above. BLASPHEMOUS I SAY!!!!!

I would love this album as DLC. It would be fun, but Eruption would be ridiculously hard.

I would love to get anything by Van Halen (not Van Hagar or Van Cherone), and this is a great album to start with. Two Thumbs UP !!!!!

I'd buy the whole thing... still really unlikely but who cares.

I love Atomic Punk and Ain't Talking Bout Love the most.

I haven't heard anything else other than those and Eruption/You Really Got Me, and Janie's Crying though. Will check the rest later.

I don't understand the point of your post, that knowledge is pretty common if you ask me. With Guitar Hero: Van Halen being released, of course they are exclusive to Activision, HMX won't be able to get Van Halen until the contract expires.
