Jimmy Buffett: Our first audio interview

Hey all, we've been working hard behind the scenes and are now glad to announce the first in a series of audio interviews. Jimmy Buffett chatted with us over the phone and proved to be witty, a big RB fan, and generally a swell guy. You can find the interview here: http://www.rockband.com/blog/entry/354028

And there's much more to come: Next week we'll be talking with the leader of the alt-rock pioneer band who have a great 80s album about to hit as DLC...

It's even looking quite likely that we'll soon be presenting an exclusive chat with a very popular Canadian band who have a strong RB connection (and are not the New Pornographers).

Hey, I think those shrimp are beginning to boil...

I love me some Rush, but I would love some more New Pornographers as well.

But I really hope the interview is with Rush, now that would be awesome! Maybe that Moving Pictures rumor is true?

I normally outfit my character to go with the weekly DLC if I buy it and I gave her the Wave Rider top in blue & white for that week. So they're not all headbangers. :p (Though since I also bought 2 of the Disturbed songs that week I gave her metal boots and arm bands too) Still wearing it actually since I haven't bought anything since. Should've asked if he ever found his salt shaker! :p

Rush, giving info. about Rock Band?

Could it be? It's impossible, isn't it? Could we be getting the rest of the Rush catalog as masters?

This will either herald the arockalypse (Rock Band's rise and GH's downfall) or be the biggest nerdgasm ever.

I am looking forward to finding out. This is going to be cool. :)

I thought Rush right away. But does that make sense, given that their songs have been covers?

I still hope it's Rush though, I love them, especially their early stuff (up to early 80s)

Maybe the songs in the game didn't have useable masters? Maybe Rush re-recorded certain songs for Rock Band?

Jimmy Buffett did, so why not the holy power trio?

    Probably Rush....

But I wouldn't rule out Heart

They're on Johnlok's playlist, and are another amazing band.

While they currently aren't in Rock Band they could could certainly make a big connection with an album.

Seconded!!!!!! Thirded!!!!! Fourthed!!!! Fifthed!!!!!!!! Sixthed!!! and so on...

Unfortunately if HMX releases a Rush album for DLC there will be a 50% chance that I'll be rendered infertile from the massive orgasms that will strike me uncontrollably.

I pray for an album, but any Rush would be very well received.

Come on 2112!!!! Or Permanent Waves! PLEASE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most definitely Rush. Heart, while I'd love to see them in Rock Band, don't fit the bill.
    A. They're not already in Rock Band.
    B. They're not Canadian (they're from Seattle)

But I'll keep my fingers crossed that we'll get some Heart. A lot of their stuff would be fun to play (and sing), and pad the roster for female singers a bit more. Last Rock Band party I was at, one of my friends actually said he'd like to see "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You" in the game. I won't go that far, but I'd gladly take some of their more rockin' hits...maybe "How Can I Refuse", "Never", and...ahh hell, why not? "Crazy on You"

Oh well, I guess Rush is fun too. I just want to play Use It.

Aren't there a couple of other canadian bands in the game? I'm going to laugh if it ends up being Freezepop or something.

Freezepop was actually formed in Boston. For some reason, I thought they were Canadian too.

They're not canadian but its a on going joke in HMX games to try and link them to canada since they were arrested in canada for entering under false pretences... i think the link to a blog about it is on their wikipedia page read it now its funny as hell

The Pixies are also from Boston, which is NOT Canada.

Moving Pictures would be extremely sexy. So would Snakes and Arrows, but with more than one instrumental, that's unlikely.

2112 would be a pipedream, but it would be -nice.-

The problem with Moving Pictures is that Tom Sawyer and Limelight are non masters.... So will the whole album be non mater? Or can we re-download those songs as masters?

My guess is that if it is Rush.... then it will be a different album....
