What is your favorite line from a song? I am gonna start out with this one

So, How does it feel to know that
Someone's kid in the heart of America has blood on their hands
Fighting to defend your rights so you can maintain the lifestyle
That insults his family's existence.

Well, some of mine our the lyrics to "Serve the Servants" by NIRVANA, and, well, pretty much all of the lyrics by NIRVANA, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Alice in Chains, and more. I know, that's a lot, but all of those bands sometimes just make me stop what I was doing or thinking about and just listen to the lyrics, just to hear exactly what they say and think about them.

"Serve the Servants" is probably my favorite song as far as lyrics go, though. I just felt that we had Cobain telling us so much actual stuff, and not just lyrics to fill up space.

So get back, back, back to where we lasted.
    Just like I imagine.
I could never feel this way.
So get back, back, back to the disaster.
    My heart's beating faster.
Holding on to feel the same.

    my fav lyrics ^ :D

You got a problem with the times
Your problems sound a lot like mine
They tell you "Crime, it doesn't pay"
But they'll make us pay to be victimized

You know it's been on my mind
How can I stand right here
Look myself in the eye and say
    That it's over now???
    Alice In Chains-Over Now

Song is pretty deep since it's everything I dealt with when I broke up with my ex of 2 years. This is the chorus line, but the first two times it goes "How can YOU look me in the eye and say...." so when I heard this line the on the last chrous I was like "WTF?! I know I did that."

"All I want for you my son, is to be satisfied."
    Simple Man-Lynard Skynard

I usually tear up on this part since I know that 98% of parents just wish for their children to be happy.

Thanks to RockBand, I found a sweet awesome song with some of the best lyrics.

Now you just fought one hell of a fight,
And I know you hate me, and you got the right,
To kill me now, and I wouldn't blame you if you do.
But you oughta thank me, before I die,
For the gravel in your guts, and the spit in your eye,
Cause I'm the son of a bitch that named you Sue.

Jackson Browne's "Rock Me On The Water"...

The road is filled with homeless souls
    Every woman, child and man
Who have no idea where they will go
But theyll help you if they can
Now everyone must have some thought
Thats going to pull them through somehow
Well the fires are raging hotter and hotter
But the sisters of the sun are going to rock me on the water now

Pink Floyd - Wish you were here

And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.

Another Pink Floyd line always gets me too, but for the wrong reasons, its 'the turning away' and the line goes something like:
".... the speechless unite in a silent accord ...."

I can't help but picture a troupe of mimes sitting in a very quiet Honda >_<

Every dream I dream is like
Some Kinda rash 'n' reckless scene
To give out such crazy love
You must be some kinda drug
And if my time don't ever come
For me you're still the same

    I close my eyes
    only for a moment
    and the moment's gone
    all my dreams
pass before my eyes a curiosity
    dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind

    Same old song
    just a drop of water
    in the endless sea
    all we do
    crumbles to the ground
    though we refuse to see
    dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind

    Now, don't hang on
    nothing last forever
    but the earth and sky
    it slips away

    And all your money
    won't another minute buy

    Dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind
    dust in the wind
everything is dust in the wind

Dust in the Wind - Kansas....

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of themself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Live, I will kill you, If I Die, You are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor.

Broken the paradigm an example must be set.
Invoke the Siren's song and sign the death warrant.
This is what has been wrought for 30 pieces of silver.
The tongues of men and angels bought by a beloved betrayer.

I am the result, what's better left unspoken.
Violence begins to mend what was broken.
You've been talking, I've been all ears.

Words meant to dwell in darkness shall never see the light of day.
Words can be broken so can bones, execute the mandate.
Mouth full of dirt your name is removed from the registry.
St. Peter greets with empty eyes then turns and locks the gate.

I am the result, what's better left unspoken.
Violence begins to mend what was broken.
You've been talking, I've been all ears.
    Omerta.

    Cheaply venal, stupidly verbose.
A slip of the tongue, a slit of the throat.
Six feet under with no marker.
Keep my name from your mouth forever.
Free speech for the living, dead men tell no tales.
Your laughing finger will never point again.
    Omerta.
    Omerta.
    Sing for me now.

holy crap! that song is about tetris?

    oh and my lyrics:

    She said,
    'Son, well, you know,
    you're an ugly boy.
You don't really look like him

    In this long line
    There's been some
    real strange genes
    You've got 'em all
    You've got 'em all
    With some extras thrown in'
    -real good looking boy-The Who

I love those lyrics. that song is gonna be so fun to sing.

the song is about 2 boys based off of Roger Daultry and Pete Townshend. One boy feels that he is ugly, (pete) while the other boy aspires to be the next elvis. (Roger) in the end, they both find love, and what not. happy ending. yay!

    RX Bandits - Overcome

    We've had enough
    We've had enough
We've had enough of the politicians
    We've had enough yeah
    Of these politician's wars
All we need right now is love
We've had enough of these military scoreboards
What we need right now is love, come on
We've had enough of these politician's wars
All we need right now is love
We've had enough of these military scoreboards
All we need right now is love
We've had enough of these politician's wars
All we need right now is love
We've had enough of these military scoreboards
All we need right now is love

    Turn it up
The future is held in the hands
    Who right the textbooks
Ignorance is bred when falsified thinking is taught
    To the youth instead of
    Past mistakes and mind elevation,
Like the graves that manifest destiny has created
    So we can build our
    Capitalist consumer based economy,
    To build, market,
And sell commodities we don't need
But we are trained to believe like celebrity imaging
Well I'm here to take my feelings back and I hope That you will be with me

I can't wait for that day
When I hear us all screaming.
    Ahhhhhhhhh,
I can't wait for that day
When I hear us all singing together,
    Ooooohhhhhh
I can't wait for that day
When I hear us all screaming.
    Ahhhhhhhhh
I can't wait for that day
When I hear us all singing together,
    Ahhh,

I can't wait for the day
When I hear us all screaming,
    HERE COMES THE REVOLUTION.
    When every race color
And creed of militant human beings stand up
With fists together for substance and true meaning
Because right now we got our feet stuck in cement
    We're too caught up in
    A material status quo punishment
And one thing is for sure
And that's the sun will always set,
Darling you can bet our moon is quite the opposite
So baby take a axe to your makeup kit
Set ablaze the billboards and their advertisements
Love with all your hearts and never forget
How good it feels to be alive
    And strive for your desire
    Just cause you can't see
Your cage doesn't mean that you are free
When there are laws against nature
But its ok for you to be
Addicted to over the counter prescriptions
And magazines dictate all our human relations

I'm not buying, no I'm not giving in
To a culture that objectifies all of our women
I'm not buying, no I'm not consuming
The apathetic dribble on the news media's chin
I'm not buying, no I'm not giving in
The lies that are sold through textbooks to children
I'm not buying, no I'm not consuming
    Cause the positive will
    Always overcome the negative right

And we stay inside, its right outside,
    We stand in line
We all enjoy the fences to keep it at bay
    But I'm not giving in
