What is your ideal career choice and why

Well I flatly want to become a filmmaker because I absolutely adore films, story writing and cinematography (been doing photography for a few years now)

trying to get a traineeship/assistant position but no luck so far :(

and I want to put Australian films on the map and not a one off shot that it seems to be now because its quite frankly embarrassing and there is a lot of talent here that simply isn't being used

What is your ideal career choice and why?

I wouldnt mind going into the gaming or music producing industries, which is why I want to study at the Boston MIT, that and either would allow me to continue with my hobbies and interests.
^ Like a job at Harmonix?

    THAT would be SWEET! :)

I would love a job at Harmonix but at any video game developers would be good enough for me.

Well, my main dream is to be able to get a record deal and be a musician with my band, but since that's probably not gonna happen, I'd like to go into game design.

My ideal career choice is either a cardiologist or a cardiothoracic surgeon. The sheer mechanics of the human heart amaze me.

I am trying to figure out how I would balance the numerous years of college and my current job as a RN and charge nurse. It is easier said than done.

I may get around to it, but I will just have to see. I am pretty satisfied with my current career but I could do without all of the drama that comes along with being a supervisor over a bunch of cackling, catty girls. LOL.:D

yeh, there definitely needs to be a hollywood reformation movement

ahh a fellow aspiring filmmaker, one day we might compete against each other at the Sundance Film Festival!

impressive, I've always had great respect for those in medicine (provide they aren't rude like SOME DOCTORS I'VE HAD ARRGH)

either way, it seems that you have the passion to do so and not doing it for the status/money

I reckon atleast try your arse off (can you imagine the amount of artists we'd have if people didn't try, that would be easily half of RB's setlist gone!)

maybe you can compose music for video games ^_^

    Writing.

Mostly fantasy, purhaps doing some writing for video games, in the RPG genre of coarse. I think I have wrote about 50+ short stories in the last 15 years.

And on the side, Id love to do a few books with poetry. Sitting on 4 books of poetry Ive wrote. Not to mention all the small tablets Ive filler. Not that I am into much of that anymore, not like I used to be. My head swarms with ideas, but I just cant get it to paper properly.

Oh, Id need one hell of an editor though, because, my spelling and grammer sucks!

I got a few I would like to do...

I would like to become a video game programmer, I would like to work with the A.I. That would be fun to do because of all the fun things I can do with stuff of that nature at home. I have a love for video games and making them so I think I could pull through in college. I know well ahead of time that video games are not easy to make.

It would be cool to possibly get a job at Harmonix as a one of the programmers that do the bass charts for the game. I could also possibly add a bass line to a song that didn't have one before because I'm learning how to play bass.

Another job I might want to do is be a studio musician of some kind.

One of my dreams are to form a band with my friend and play music in front of others. I don't want to do it as a cover artist, rather as a musician playing my own music.

That's awesome. I love writing anyone who knows me has heard at least one of my stories. I'm notorious for being very imaginative and creative to the extent where it's just like, "Wtf?!? This is so trippy!!!" Don't believe me? For Halloween at skool, we all had to write a scary story. I wrote one about a head-eating cardboard box....... :D

    Damn straight!

I'm looking to get into the industry as well. I studied Film and TV production and got a diploma and now I'm looking for a job in a production house. Editing and motion graphics kinda stuff (Final Cut and After Effects).

It'd be awesome mostly because every project would be different. Sure there'd still be repetative aspects of it, but over all each week would be different and I'd get to be creative in different ways.

Until I can land a job (probably in syndey, melb or brisbane) I'm stuck in Adelaide being self employed doing event filming and freelance editing.

I would like to be one of the following: Mayor, Governor or President of the United States of America.

Why? Because I know first hand what it's like to be homeless and what it's like to make a six-figure income. I can connect with most people. Unlike the empty suits that have been in office or are currently running for office.

im IN my ideal career choice... video production... went to school for TV Production, and i currently produce police training videos.. never ever ever in my wildest thought did i ever see myself working in law enforcement, so it was a learning curve. work with 3 other guys, i get to start from the beginning of the production and go to the very end, from scripting writing to designing the DVD sleeves.. there is no stage of the video production process we dont do hands on.. so i am currently gaining a tonne of experience producing these videos, i actually won an international gold medal award last year for best law enforcement documentary in north america..

hopefully one day i will produce NHL hockey videos.. thatd be the ideal job within the TV production industry. but id be perfectly happen living my live out producing the police training videos. its way too much fun. cops are actually pretty awesome when ur on their side :D ha ha ha

Thats pretty awesome man. Doing sports would be pretty awesome. I've done a couple of live music shoots with huge OB van set ups and it was a bunch of fun. Live TV is where the action is at. You gotta have everything going and you gotta do everything right first time. It's tense but so rewarding when u pull off great shots, or switch over to the right camera and just the right moment.

Whats the film/tv industry like in Canada? From what I understand it's pretty good, definitely better than Australia. My friend and I have talked about moving to Canada for a few years so it'd be really cool to get a job somewhere in the industry.

False accusation. I am innocent and the witness refused to testisfy. The charges were dropped but that still doesn't take away from the fact that I was arrested.

So much for innocent until proven guilty. I was guilty until proven innocent.

I want to do something in my life with music. music is what I enjoy most in life, so its only fitting that I make a career out of it. but the risks involved in starting a band are high. you could put so much money into it, and still not make it.

If a band thing doesn't work out, I'll try to find some other thing I can do that involes music. working and HMX sounds like it would be cool.

and also, when I start a band, I ain't gonna make no emo crap. i'm gonna play like the greats-Hendrix, The Who, Zeppelin, and then slowly develop my own genre maybe. or I could redefine Rock, and show people what they are missing with this emo crap.

    I can dream can't I?

Doesn't matter much... the current President was arrested on a DUI as a younger man. The main thing would be if details from a case got out, but if it just got dropped, then it's not likely to do you any harm. (Take it from somebody who was in police custody on false charges himself in the past.)

That aside, I'm intending to, in a few years, be a professor of Economics. I have familiarity with the subject, it's an interest of mine, and I have a captive audience :)

That's a pretty big dream. I'd be happy if my band just gets a deal and we make enough money to live normally. I don't care about being THAT big, even though that would be kewl.

I've personally always wanted to join the military...something about the brotherhood and honor always appealed to me. This career choice got reinvigorated (sp?) in my mind after seeing the movie "Stop-Loss" (best movie i've ever seen)...having so many of my friends planning to join up next year adds to it too.

Although i seriously wish i had some friends that played instruments so i could try my hand at a band...i play and enjoy playing guitar WAY to much to not be able to do that everyday :D

I guess i'll stick to going to law school as i plan to do.

My dream job died in 2005, when Working Designs closed its doors. I wanted to be a video game translator for Working Designs. I've owned every game they've ported.

I went back towards my natural ability of network administration in late 2005, and although I like it, this is more like what I feel I should be doing as my career as opposed to what I want to be doing.

So my dream job, I guess, would be to work for Working Designs, or be a theoretical physicist and engineer who creates a zero-divergence time machine. Don't ask.

until that pans out, i'm just chugging away, writing sales proposals for a clinical research organization.
