HMXHenry's response to the copies of London Calling sent:

Dear TheClashTheClashTheClash and Obsoleteshock,

Thank you for the generous holiday gifts. I meant to pop in to comment sooner as we received your packages a while ago but, as I'm sure you can imagine, things were pretty hectic leading up to the holiday.

One copy of London Calling was donated to the HMX library where anyone can check it out at their leisure. The second copy of London Calling currently resides in the Community Department, and I plan on giving it an extended listen in the near future. It's been years since I've listened to it in its entirety.

Thanks again for passing along the cds. We definitely appreciate your extreme enthusiasm. I'm not saying that everyone should start sending us their favorite cds (I'm not saying that they shouldn't either) but it's a level of fan dedication that's rarely seen. We will give these albums a good home. Rock on!

-HMXHenry

HMXHenry gives us and many other bands hope with this statement:
HMXHenry said:
Maybe not for Pink Floyd, but there are plenty of bands that have received a shocking amount of support in USL that was kind of unexpected. I would not have guessed that the turn out for Muse, Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, The Clash, The Killers, Opeth, and hair metal would have been so vocal. We've seen that there's been a fairly large turn out for these bands and that's been communicated to other departments. So while certain bands may be classified as "no brainers" that we'd like to see in the game, USL helps us see support for bands that we may not have considered as strongly before.

Thank you to all who visit this thread as you are helping us get noticed and helping our cause. We can make this happen!

As much as I would like it, the fact that "Train in Vain (Stand by Me)" is DLC is a bit disheartening.

They could release it and price it as a single album in honor of Joe Strummer :D

They should charge 5 bucks for it, Joe would like it, i still dont see how they chose train in vain over london calling, but hopefully we get the whole album and i wont need to complain (maybe they could release it on Dec 22nd to honor him, but the only down side to that is i have would have to wait till december to play it)

There's a bunch, have you ever played Guitar Hero 1 o 2? There are bonus videos that show HMX employees working on recording the covers and talking about the art and graphics and making the game.

Also when you beat RB, it's a big huge slideshow sort of picture show of HMX devs along with the credits.

Some of the ladies are purdy.

ANYWAYS. If the London Calling album came out as RB DLC, I would play the entire album EVERY day.

Def the same here, and yea i have GH2 and ive beaten RB, im just to lazy to watch lyrics, we find out in the next week or so if London Calling is going to be announced, i really think it might be happening, but i will be really sad to find out if they released a punk album and it was Green Day, i would seriously kill a kitten if this happened (well mayb not)

I would turn my xbox on every day and 1st thing play London Calling, that song is just amazing, and then i would play all the other songs in the order of the album

London Calling simply must be a DLC album.

If not I'd love to see a 3-pack:

    Guns of Brixton
    Lost In The Supermarket
    London Calling

lol, a 3 pack would never work for me, i need the whole thing, but the if they dont release London Calling as a full album, HMX needs to release either their self titled album or Give Em Enough Rope (Tommy Gun would be so much fun to play)

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I DREAM we get London Calling as one of the upcoming 6 albums.

I can't sing, I only play Guitar, but if we do get London Calling I would take up singing quick!

I would play Spanish Bombs first probably.

I'm not even really into punk. I like The distillers and Rancid, other than that I don't know of any other punk bands.

Besides, if you ask me, the Clash are way too diverse to be limited to just "punk." Overpowered By Funk? Ghetto Defendant? Rock The Casbah? Just to name a couple.

Genre doesn't measure how GOOD a band is. It's just a means of classification.

They started as a punk band but werent confined by it, listen to Sandinista! and tell me thats punk (you would be wrong if you said it was, WAY wrong)

I only have London Calling and Combat Rock. : (

I've been meaning to get their ENTIRE discography, but I wan to BUY it, instead of DL it.

Also, that's what I said. Sure, they may have been punk-ish, and sure they were probably a part of the punk movement back in the day, but "punk," is really just a label, it doesn't mean so much. These days kids think punk is defined by mohawks and doc martins and pretending to be a little rebel. But that's not right.

The Clash may be part of the Punk genre, but not all of their music is strictly punk. I always refer to the Clash as "oldschool punk." Nowadays ANYTHING can be passed off as punk. Blink 182, sum 41, green day. I forget some of the other misplaced bands. :|

EDIT: lol I didn't see your edit until AFTER I posted. sorry I thought you were talking to me. : p

yea, i dont like new "punk", none of their songs carry any messages besides girls n such, its pop punk not punk rock

and if you are wanting to buy some Clash albums i would get The Clash and Give 'Em Enough Rope. Sandinista! is good but it has 35 songs and is very expiremental(seems like most songs suck at first but they grew on me) , and don't get Cut The Crap, its not really a Clash albums since Mick and Topper had been kicked out.

I don't know much about The Clash. I know Joe has passed away (it rends my heart to know this.) What other members are alive, and do you know if hey support Rock Band? I assume they do since some of their songs are in the game, but I'm curious to know what their opinion on the game is.

The remaining members are Mick (guitar), Topper (Drums) and Paul (Bass), and i truthfully don't know if they support Rock Band or not, but I'm guessing they might because we have four of their songs. Joe passed away on Dec 22nd 2002, which saddens me a lot. After you get all the Clash ablums, you should get the greatest hits of Big Audio Dynamite (Mick was in it), Carbon/Silicon (Mick is currently in this band) and The Good, The Bad and The Queen (Paul is in this band with the lead singer of blur and gorillaz). Paul was also in a band called Havana 3am but i can't find the album anywhere but they have a good song called Reach the Rock on youtube.

the guitar wouldnt be hard, but would be hella fun. Singing i dont really know because i dont sing. There are some amazing bass lines like in London Calling, Guns Of Brixton, Jimmy Jazz and Koka Kola. Drums would be a challenge, Lost in the Supermarket sounds like it would be a fun but hard song.

Yep, gamertag is ElAndyChristo I buy all DLC regardless (yes I even bought the mall song)

Add me so we can play the clash! I'm almost always playing with my band and rarely have a chance to play with other people (we're busy recording videos and working on scores) but on weekends I'm usually free.

They are actually the only people i know who play RB on my friendslist, I've been meaning to add more people who play rock bandso when RB2 comes out because of the whole "friendlist leaderboard" thing.
