Agreen. Most musicians in their respective field are unique and are hard to rank.

Why is it that respected users get away with more? When Axl Van Hagar said Kurt Cobain would have became the next John Lennon, nothing happened. When some other guy said it, he was FLAMED!

    one: point it out,

two: Axl is cool and allowed to say whatever he wants, cuz he KNOWS HIS ****

three: he is a well respected user who doesnt force his opinion onto anyone

I think it mostly has to do with the thought put into the opinion. Respected users generally end up that way because they think out their opinions more fully than others. While Axl may be able to give reasons why he thinks Kurt could have become the next Lennon, other people might say it out of blatant thoughtless fanboyism. Because people don't like wasting their time on thinking things through, they assume the well respected have thought out their opinions (which they may or may not have) while they test the others who they're uncertain of.

You can't flame Axl. It's like trying to light water on fire.

And I saw the tag a21. My first reaction was "We have tags now?" then it was "Oh, sweet, a21 is now the coolest thing in all of Indiana. Even more so then the Music Man."

Because he probably had some sort of sense behind his post. If posters have a history of not backing their posts with logic or reasoning, they get jumped on. If they have a history of backing it up or explaining it, they won't get jumped on generally.

What? The first Guitar Hero forum was probably the best ever. Best members, bet mods (does Cinder still work here?), best threads, best posts. Makes me teary-eyed just thinking about it. The only reason I go to the new GH forum is to troll. Damn, I miss Diego and DimeTime.
I don't know... if I remember correctly, there was little to no moderation, and you had people posting porn in pretty much every thread. I might be thinking of a different forum, though.

    The Beatles aren't that great.
    Megadeth is better than Metallica.
People who automatically don't like bands just because of their genre/ Last.Fm tags should be castrated.
Dio is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Ozzy.
    Di'Anno was Maiden's best singer.
Nothing blatantly stupid, but all of these things except for the third one are definitely arguable.

I don't think that's stupid... if he means becoming the next John Lennon in the sense that his words could influence thousands.

Before, during, and after that part. But yeah, that was the first time I ever saw bestiality and futa. Kinda scarred me, but now I'm desensitized.

And these are opinions so yeah they're arguable.

When I heard some of their more well known songs I thought blink-182 were pretty good but once I heard their Enema Of The State album I didn't think so highly of them. Dynestary Gary in particular rubbed me wrong. THey still have some good songs on that album (Aliens Exist, Adam's Song, All The Small Things, perhaps "Mutt") But most of the album just yells "MAINSTREAM" To me.

Blink-182 are pretty much the definition of mainstream.

Eh. Well I am not the most informed on mainstream music so there you go. I try to not listen to it so it doesn't plague my songwriting, you know?

Do you prefer CAKE's cover of I Will Survive or the original? I prefer CAKE's cover to the original but it is because of the calmer attitude it has.

Yeah, they have pretty much every element of mainstream music.

    1. Very simple song structure.

    2. Simple, yet catchy, riffs.

    3. Very simple and often stupid lyrics.

    4. Drums that are turned WAY up. They make Travis seem much greater than he really is.

    5. Nearly inaudible bass.

    6. The occasional curse word... kids love it. But no overusing it, since they need to get on the radio.
