Ultimatum;2216787 said:Yeah, the vox in Alarum remind me of a lot of bad Metalcore vocalists. The instrumentation is fantastic, but the vocals just completely turn me off.

Fizzeler;2217334 said:This sounds like a Zappa quote Also, what is the best way to learn bass (planning on learning bass with my grandfathers acoustic bass)?
JukeBoxHero;2217379 said:Getting a teacher would certainly help with direction, and for me, it made a better, much better bassist for it. Otherwise, I would recommend learning some music theory, at least a few scales and how roots work. Song wise start out a little bit easy since your hands have to get use to handling the bass, then try to up the difficulty a little bit more to improve your dexterity. One more thing that's important to be a good bassist IMO is to learn how to keep time. Try to use a metronome while you practice.

Ultimatum;2217391 said:I plan to pick up the Acoustic Guitar, do you think 3 months of lessons over the summer will be enough for me to grasp the basics and then fly solo from then on out? I don't plan on doing anything intricate or shredding, etc., I plan only to learn so I can pursue my Folk and Dark Acoustic interests.
Fizzeler;2217398 said:I plan on not getting a teacher and found the bass so what would be easiest method without a teacher
JukeBoxHero;2217545 said:I recommend what I put down in the second and third line. That requires more dedication though, one quality I need to develop.
