My own (fantasy) RB3 setlist =D

This, unlike my last one, I put some measure of thought into. I'm not perfectly happy with it, but hey, it's certainly better than my last one, I think.

So, yeah, 100 songs, and then I added 20 free DLC on top of it, following the same pattern of largely unheard of bands. So, here goes.

Oh, also, I should mention that this is pretending that any master is usable and every band ever thinks Harmonix is the greatest company ever and Activision exclusivity is stupid.

1960's (15)
Animals - House of the Rising Sun
The Band - The Weight
Beach Boys - Good Vibrations
The Beatles - Hey Jude
James Brown - Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag
Cream - I Feel Free
The Doors - Light My Fire
Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues
Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through the Grapevine
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child (Slight Return)
The Kinks - You Really Got Me
The Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin
The Rolling Stones - Paint It, Black
Simon & Garfunkel - The Sounds of Silence
The Who - I Can’t Explain
The Velvet Underground - I’m Waiting for the Man

1970's (19)
Aerosmith - Back in the Saddle
America - A Horse With No Name
Black Sabbath - Electric Funeral
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4
The Clash - London Calling
Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water
Derek & the Dominoes - Layla
The Eagles - Hotel California
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus
Fleetwood Mac - You Make Loving Fun
Elton John - Tiny Dancer
Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand
Mungo Jerry - In the Summertime
Pink Floyd - Money
Queen - Keep Yourself Alive
Rush - Fly By Night
Bob Seger - Old Time Rock & Roll
Steely Dan - Rikki Don’t Lose That Number
Supertramp - Breakfast in America

1980's (19)
Aha - Take On Me
Blue

I thought "Oh cool, a QotSA song", but then I noticed it was No One Knows. Song for the Dead is way more fun.

Otherwise, sick setlist. I'd pay $60 for it.

I tried to limit the amount of repeat songs from GH:WT, annnd, I have Wheel in the Sky because IMO it'd work better than Don't Stop Believing =p

    Thanks for the compliments nonetheless.

Eh, screw it, I'll do some DLC, too. Plus, it gives me a reason to bump my own thread :D

Kay =D The prog pack I made is huge, but I couldn't decide on just a couple tracks XD Oh, and I would like to note that my "best of" Metallica pack isn't actually Metallica's best, just the "career-spanning" tracks we were supposed to get.

Um, yeah. Paradise City is the second worst song off the album, and would be the least fun in Rock Band (Mr. Brownstone's worse, but it would be kind of fun). May I suggest using something else? Anything else? Well, except the acoustic songs off Lies and November Rain, of course. My top suggestions are Nice Boys, Think About You and... um... Garden of Eden.

Smells Like Teen Spirit... hm. What makes you think this would be fun for anyone besides the drummer? I mean, honestly. When the guitarist isn't playing More Than a Feeling, he's playing long SUSTAINS. FUN. And, um. The vocalist is trying to wrangle several off-beat pitch changes, with the bassist playing notes that he can't hear. Fun! Come as You Are is the most obvious replacement, with Lithium close behind. But if you want something absolutely awesome that a good number of people have heard of, use About a Girl. Bleach, ftw.

And Walk is just the guitarist playing the green and red notes very slowly over and over until a medicore solo! Whee! Use anything else, I beg you. ANYTHING. Domination, Cowboys from Hell, Cemetary Gates, The Art of Shredding... Five Minutes Alone... ANYTHING.

Well, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Walk were chosen more for producing sales. Smells Like Teen Spirit I still think would be fun, at least more fun than a number of Nirvana songs we already have. Plus, it's not like Kurt cobain's a great singer or he can shred on guitar in other songs or anything =p

For Walk, however, you have a good point, and Cemetary Gates would sell almost as well =p So, suggestion taking.

As for GnR, I'm not going to lie, I'm not a big fan XD That's just the main song I like, so I'll consider a change when I get home from work

And also, just to make sure, you thought my list was "awesome" until I made three poor choices out of over 100? =p

Ugh. I hate it when people do that. Kurt can shred.

Nirvana have songs that would be insane on all instruments.
    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3UoBYIPQBr0
And Kurt is an epic vocalist.

the setlist and dlc songs you chose are awesome, needs at least 1 coldplay song(lets say "lovers in japan" maybe?) but considering the fact that you included van halen, metallica, the doors, who are looking like guitar hero exclusives, id say a few tweaks will happen. overall, with the addition of a coldplay song, id say this would be the best setlist ever( with gh:wt, rb2, gh2, and rb1 following).

Yeah, but there's a pretty big "Cake for Rock Band" movement =p Plus it's better Tier 1 music than a lot of other options.

Doesn't that song have no vocals? I couldn't include it on disc =p Of course I assumed that from a strangely worded phrase on Wikipedia, so I cuold be dead wrong.

Hey, I'm 20, and outside of Journey and Fleetwood Mac, I had no one to show me how awesome older music was XD I've had to discover everything pre-1990 on my own, and I've only started discovering it in the past 2 years. So, my knowledge is still limited =p

Just the chance to "play" more Claypool bass lines on that plastic guitar is exciting. Personally, I'd love to see "To Defy The Laws of Tradition" as DLC, although Primus in general would be a huge win.

Haha score! Gotta make sure they keep the YYZ drum intro though. :p

I also noticed the Tool pack omitted Schism, which I think you said somewhere else would be boring to play. World Tour proved that hands down with that long ass drum break, so good call. I love the song, but for RB, it's more about whats fun to play.
