  • Don't your pedals have carpet spikes you can extend? I thought all drum pedals had that. They do, and e-drum kick pads do too. But because of the way the pedal clamps onto the pad, sometimes neither set of spikes ends up engaging the carpet very …
  • Do you have the PDP Wired Adapter? RB4 needs it in order to use a MIDI drum kit... it's not like in RB3 where the MIDI-Box plugs straight into the Xbox-360. I'd try to get RB3 working (easier to start from scratch) and then go to RB4. Yeah he sa…
  • -Twenty preset drum kits and twenty memory slots for user-defined drum kits it has the option to make your own Drum set-up (changing the MIDI pad values #'s) Page 22 or your manual shows that everything should be set up correctly, pad # value…
  • I'm not familiar with the Ions but don't they have a 1/4" plugs? Would this work? than it's compatible with an e-kit later one too. No, the Ion kit requires an ON/OFF signal for the Kick, just like the RB kits. Hence the need for the KickBox/Kic…
  • Alesis Nitro is great for that price and a lot of folks here have been very happy with it in RB4.
  • This way still works: http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2967&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=9c7a32fc226809b754555a95a9c6fd96 That's what I used before the Kickbox was ever created. I had one half of the sens…

  • Any e-drum brain which has configurable MIDI settings. It would help to know how much money you're looking to spend, as e-drum modules can range very widely in price.
  • Both answers above are exactly right. Take a listen here, I took the multitrack for Chop Suey and separated out JUST the snare track. This is the same time in the song that you linked to in that Youtube video. You can very clearly hear when John …
  • thing is im on ps4, plus im seeings is hard to find them now sadly. i guess my best bet would be the madcatz kit You can get a MIDI Pro adapter for PS4 on Amazon for $30: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Rock-Band-MIDI-PRO-3/dp/B0042B3EOM/ref=sr…
  • Just got my Alesis Nitro Kit and really like it. The only thing I don't like is the kit is set up to have the crash in the middle and the ride on the right. Can I use an extension cable to have the crash on the right? I currently have the cable fo…
  • I don't see why that would have mattered. In the olden RB days, there was plenty of blatant Xbox favoritism. Who cares if they showed a little love to the PS side? And it wasn't even favoritism, it was the fact that Sony isn't as hard-assed about…
  • Because that chart came out before the Wired Legacy Adapter came out and they never updated it. They left them both listed as "no" because they didn't want to ruffle feathers. The PS stuff working was treated as an "unknown bonus". But the PS4 doe…
  • We've got a chart that goes into detail for ya. Owl, why does that chart say the PS3 MIDI Pro adapter doesn't work with RB4 on the PS4? It does...
  • I have an ION kit for 360 - works great for RB4, but and wondering if there is a "new" e-kit compatible with RB4 on xbox one, or a way to fix/replace the ION brain if it ever craps out. I like to be prepared for the worst. Thanks for any info! Th…
  • can someone tell me if this kit is good and will work with rockband 4.. According to its description on Monoprice (where it's $30 cheaper than Walmart, btw): https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=608550 It does have a 5-pin MIDI Out and you can …
  • stick control...i only ever took a few lessons and really didn't learn anything by that point... Yeah Stick Control is a fantastic book, one of the best in fact, when used in the right setting. Unfortunately, self-teaching isn't that setting.
  • i have this book. kind of got confusing a bit further in the book with the open and closed rolls not being clearly marked...i wish i hadn't stopped practising with it.... "This book"...which one? I linked to several. The first 2 I linked aren't …
  • Any resources out there you real drummers would recommend to get me pointed in the right direction? There's any number of tutorial series on Youtube for beginning drummers. I would also highly suggest picking up a metronome and the book "Stick Co…
  • Just wondering what everyone is using to hold their cymbals on the ion set. I want to go PRO drums but I can't seem to find the mounting equipment I want to go with the Pintech cymbals. Any help would be awesome Check out the 4th post in this thre…
  • Nevermind. Confused this with the other poll. I call them solo buttons precisely because of the confusion calling them high frets can cause (high as in location or as in pitch?; it confuses people). Well, on a real guitar, those frets *would* be …
  • Mine worked for a couple of years, then suddenly stopped.... I bought a new converter and still doesn't work. Anyone know how to change the midi numbers on this one? Thanks http://simmonsdrums.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Manuals/SD7PK_Manual.…
  • A drummer that rests during fills is nothing great. He wasn't resting, he was going for an optimal score to get #1 on the leaderboard.
  • Anti-Vibe sticks are great for e-drums with rubber pads. Not so much for mesh kits. Wouldn't suggest that at all.
  • Ok so based off that picture, I'd suggest trying to move the HH further to the left down the arm, and then swing the arm in a little bit toward the snare so that the edge of the HH is almost directly above the left rim of the snare. You might have …
  • How low is your HH now? Got a pic you can post? You can see in that first pic I posted that mine is pretty low too. Last time I measured it, it was exactly 7" higher than the surface of my snare.
  • Yup, super low. My ride is maybe 2" above my floor tom, and covering about 1/3 of it. I only leave enough room height-wise so that the ride doesn't bang into the floor tom when I'm hitting it.
  • Interesting, crash before the ride .. You said "interesting", but what you meant was, "totally normal". Here's a pic of my kit from a wedding we played not too long ago, exactly the same as Zombie's (with the addition of a small splash in the m…
