DLC Week of 1/11: Skid Row and Whitesnake!

Two artists have their second DLC songs releasing this week, with another Skid Row track and a Rewind from Whitesnake coming to Rock Band soon!

What better song to release as a follow-up to December’s “18 and Life” DLC release than the follow-up single, “I Remember You”? The hit power ballad from Skid Row, it became a top 10 hit for the band in the transition to the ‘90s. Bass and drums hold down the rhythm as you may expect from a ballad, but there’s still nuance to be found in each part. There’s plenty of active parts on guitar, including a tough solo near the end of the song. Vocals are…well, Sebastian Bach doing a ballad. They’re pretty tough to get down, even outranking the guitar difficulty.

Whitesnake previously made an appearance on the Rock Band 3 disc with “Here I Go Again” and now anyone can pick it up with this Rewind release! Topping the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1987, “Here I Go Again” joined several other huge singles to push Whitesnake’s self-titled album to 8x platinum status in America. A slow intro builds toward the full band coming in, with an excellent guitar riff taking lead in the song. A well-known chorus is great for vocalists, which only steps back for the guitar solo later in the song.

Songs can be purchased individually for $1.99 each. The Rock Band Rivals Season 4 Spotlight Pass Plus can be purchased for $15.99.
    • Skid Row - "I Remember You" (Part of the Rock Band Rivals Season 4 Spotlight Pass Plus)
    • Whitesnake - "Here I Go Again" (Rewind)

    * Please note that this week’s DLC tracks will be available for purchase on Thursday, January 11th.

Which yes, should also extend to Get the Funk Out Pack.
  • Re: I really need some Rock Band help.

Did you play Expert your first day holding a plastic guitar?
No I actually started on easy on RB1. Maybe that's your way of saying it's gonna take time? It's just really frustrating because I do try like heck.
You were born with the ability to breathe and that's...about it (depending on your burping needs, maybe even that was a rough go of it!). Literally everything you can do right now was something you previously could not and spent time at. You don't need to learn alt-strumming in 30 seconds any more than you needed to learn Expert guitar in 30 seconds, or how to do long division in 30 seconds, or whatever else. If you can't do a thing, just start doing the thing, right? Be hard-pressed to get WORSE at something by doing it.
  • Re: DLC Discussion Thread - Discover LA: KROQ Locals Only Pack!

I really hope this is the start of a trend for city-focused packs. Being from Minneapolis I was always jealous of the attention up-and-coming artists in Boston were getting through DLC releases. This LA pack gives me hope for more packs featuring up-and-coming artists from different cities' music scenes. I would pay vast sums of money for a Minneapolis pack.
Ask me how many times I've yelled about The Current.
